I had no idea what orange julius was when my husband suggested to make a homemade version of it. I totally get that everyone, but me, here in the U.S. knows and loves orange julius. But I’m from another planet, you know. 🙂

Oh boy, was I missing out big time!

It took me a couple of trials and errors to perfect the recipe, and now I’m just drinking it non-stop to make up for the lost time!

I knew I had perfected the recipe when hubby gave two thumbs up and chugged two glasses in a row. Yes, it was that good!

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of frozen fruit concentrates, but for this recipe you absolutely need it. I tried regular orange juice, and it just doesn’t cut it.

And since my husband is on a dairy-free diet (just temporarily, thank God!), I used coconut milk and a little bit of cream of coconut to boost the coconut flavor. If you don’t have cream of coconut, no need to run to the store for it though.

By the way, coconut + orange = HEAVEEEN. You’ve got to try it, if you haven’t already.

  1. I know this is silly question but for the coconut milk is it the coconut from a can or the coconut milk unsweetened from the fridge aisle?

    1. Hi, Kas. No such thing as a silly question. You can use either one. In this recipe, I used unsweetened coconut milk from the fridge aisle.

    1. Well I had to end up making mine in a bowl LOL because every blender that I own decided this was the time to start leaking.
I then crushed ice with my bullet and poured the mixture on top of it it was still good.

  2. 3 stars
Made this with one can of coconut milk, did not add any water & sugar. The frozen concentrate I used is actually sweet enough without it.  I did add  a few ice cubes to try to get it more frothy since I had thawed my concentrate overnight in fridge.
