If you know anything about me, you probably know that I have a thing for meringue-based desserts, like Angel food cake, Pavlova cake and of course, macarons. As a result, I end up with a ton of extra egg yolks.  

And because I hate wasting food, I’ve collected many different ways to put those extra yolks to a good use!

How to Store Extra Egg Yolks

Leftover egg yolks can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

  1. Place the extra egg yolks in an airtight container.
  2. Press a plastic wrap directly over the yolks to prevent them from drying out.
  3. Cover and refrigerate.
