Have you ever been to a themed party?

Like ugly sweater party, or masquerade ball, or Luau party for New Year’s Eve?

That last one is actually one we had a few years back. Yep, right here in North Dakota. In bone-chilling cold winter! Hawaiian shirts, hula skirts, leis and all! We even roasted a pig for the occasion. I mean, it’s not Luau without a roasted pig, right? To say it was epic is simply an understatement. It was the best New Year’s party ever!

Yeah, we had our share of fun back in the days. But I don’t want that to be a thing of the past, you know? Just because we now have kids, it doesn’t mean we should stop having fun.

So, I propose a pajama party!!

Have your guests come in their pjs. And you provide all the snacks.

Don’t you worry, it’ll be easy-peasy. I’ll show you how to build the most amazing snack board to keep your guests happy and satisfied entire night. Because snacks are key for any successful party.

Sweet and salty, spicy and creamy, with all the textures in the world!

Snack Board Rule #1

Mix and match flavors. You’ll never go wrong with sweet n’ salty! Because I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like that combo. Have you? Pro Tip (just kidding, just a tip): pick a hero snack for your board to get the ball rolling and plan the rest of the board around it. For example, the star of my today’s snack board is Lay’s Kettle Cooked Chips. What goes well chips? Some kind of creamy dip… Call me crazy, but I absolutely love dipping crunchy chips in creamy ranch dip. Oh-so-good!! Also, chocolate!! I mean, chocolate dipped chips are a thing, right?? That’s where sweet part comes in. I also added a different kind of sweet into the mix: sweet cherry peppers, which adds tiny bit of spicy to the board. Of course, a little heat is never a bad thing!

Snack Board Rule #2

Mix and match textures! Crunchy chips + creamy yogurt dip, or ranch dip, or tzatziki = SUPER amazing!! And while extra crunchy chips are so satisfying, do offer something with opposite texture, like those juicy sweet peppers or olives. OLIVES!! Guys, I had to make an excuse to incorporate olives. What can I say! Also, get some creamy goat cheese with crispy crackers and thin breadsticks. Basically, throw in a little bit of everything: juicy, crispy, crunchy, soft, sticky (dates!), chewy, crunchy (did I say that?)… Well, you get the idea…

Snack Board Rule #3

And most importantly, have FUN! This snack board is my dream. I’ve piled up everything that I love to munch on all day every day. And I encourage you to do the same.

Piles of snack is AWESOME! But it’d be even more awesome if shared with bunch of fun-loving folks dressed in fun pajamas!
