Simple mini pizza tartlets. Perfect appetizer for meat-lovers!

Simple mini pizza tartlets. Perfect appetizer for meat-lovers!

This recipe is inspired by my boyfriend’s idea and recipe on KitchenAid stand mixer booklet. Shortly after I got my new stand mixer for Christmas, I made mushroom-onion tartlets according to the recipe on the instruction booklet. My boyfriend suggested to add meat and marina sauce next time. Brilliant idea! The cream cheese crust was perfect without any change. Thank you, KitchenAid! That’s how these mini pizza tartlets were born. 🙂

Ingredients

For Crust:

  • 4 oz 110gr cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • ¾ cup 95r all-purpose flour

For Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 Italian sausages
  • 4 oz 110gr fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
  • ½ cup shredded cheese of your choice
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 24 mini pepperonis
Note: I test all my recipes with both measurements for the most precise and accurate result!

Instructions

  • To make the crust: Beat the cream cheese and butter until fluffy, about a minute. Add flour and continue mixing for another 1-2 minutes. Shape the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic. Refrigerate for 30-60minutes.
  • Heat olive oil in skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the sausage and brown over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as you go. Add mushrooms and cook until tender and fully cooked. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese. Add the egg and mix well.
  • Pre-heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the chilled dough into 24 pieces. Flatten each piece to fit into the mini muffin pan and place into a mini muffin cups. Pour ½ teaspoon marinara sauce into each muffin cup. Add sausage mixture. Top it with extra cheese, if desired. Place one pepperoni on each tartlet. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
