It was during an overnight layover in Houston, TX on our way back from Belize… We were starving for some real meat after 10 days on the island, so naturally we headed straight to the closest steakhouse.

That’s where I had my very first Mexican Bulldog, or coronarita, aka beer margarita. My jaw dropped when the server brought out a huge bowl of frozen margarita topped with an upside down bottle of Corona! What an interesting and FUN way to enjoy margarita! I loved it ever since.

Simple coronita recipe for Cinco de Mayo party! This ultimate party drink is a true crowd pleaser.

Lucky for us, it’s also super simple to make one at home. And the best part, it’s a party-ready batch drink recipe, which means you’ll get to enjoy more than 1 drink, or you can share with a friend. But if you’re planning a bigger party, you may need to triple the recipe to keep up with demand. One just won’t be enough. Consider yourself warned. 😉

Oh and quick note about orange juice. You may wonder why the heck am I adding orange juice. Well, that’s because it cuts down sourness of lime juice and adds a little sweetness. It’s good, I promise.
But if you don’t have orange juice on hand, then no big deal. It’s certainly not a reason to run to the store. Just add a little extra sugar.
