Happy Mother’s Day to all beautiful moms and mothers-to-be!

In honor of this special day, I wanted to share with you a little behind the scene of how I work with my toddler son. 🙂

Grant is making banana bread…

I don’t consider myself a full-time stay at home mom, and I’m not a full-time working mom either. I think of myself as a work-at-home-mom.

Working from home isn’t easy. Though there’re so many advantages, there’re also just as many disadvantages. Constant temptation to do house chores, load a laundry, for example, or start a dinner. And if you have a little one, well, you can just forget about work all together. In that case, nap times and late nights are your prime work hours, but we do manage a little bit of work together too.

That being said, I wouldn’t change it for the world! I love working from home with my toddler, and I’m excited to share with you fun moments of our work days.

Grant is now so fast climbing up on the table, it’s practically impossible to take a good shot before he’s right there next to the food I’m photographing. And I usually capture moments when he’s reaching into the food as I shoot.

So let’s get to the photos, shall we?

Over a year ago, things used to be easier when Grant didn’t climb on chairs and table in mere seconds. 🙂 And I used to be able film a video right next to him!

Then he took interest in photographing… 😉

Perks of our job: snacking on the job is always encouraged…

And taste testing on set is also permitted… Supreme chocolate cheesecake was delish!

Mighty Thanksgiving turkey is not as interesting as fun trivet…

We’re preparing vegetables for the week and shooting a photo for my new website, Busy Cooks, here. He loves snacking on raw veggies on those days.

Here he’s helping me to make pain au chocolat, aka chocolate croissants. Rolling croissant dough is the most fun job ever!

Aspiring food stylist right here! 🙂 Grant loves to style and arrange the scenes. Here he’s styling seared scallops for a shoot. Look at his face, so serious and invested!

Oh yeah, Grant is obsessed with freeze-dried raspberries. It’s his favorite snack. And of course, he didn’t miss an opportunity to get his hands on some of those “nommy” treats!

Again, Grant is eager to help out with spiralizing zucchini and preparing veggies. He’s very handy in the kitchen.

Arranging English scones just right for the photo, or is he stealing one to eat?

Yeah, it’s sure fun to have my sweet Grant in the kitchen with me.

But to tell you the truth, it’s really hard to actually accomplish much when he’s around on cooking/shooting days. And I’m incredibly lucky to have my husband and my in-laws to help out on those days, taking Grant to the ranch and babysitting for a day.

And that’s a wrap. Thank you for being on this fun journey with us! Hope you all have a lovely day!

P.S. Let me know if you enjoy this kind of behind-the-scene posts. 🙂 If you do, I’ll share more in the future.

    1. Haha thanks, Rosann! 🙂 He’s fun to have around the kitchen for sure, but we accomplish way less.
