Why you’ll love this recipe:

I’m a big fan of refreshing smoothies for breakfast or as a mid afternoon snack. They’re quick, easy, and a super delicious way to pack in nutrients!

This strawberry pear smoothie is just 4 ingredients and a breeze to make!

  • Protein – It boasts 12 grams of protein from the Greek yogurt. Protein keeps you feeling full longer, resulting in less mindless snacking.
  • Antioxidants – Strawberries, grapes, and pears are rich in disease-fighting antioxidants.
  • Vitamin C – Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron, protects your cells against free radicals, and gives you glowing skin!

The combination of juicy grapes, crisp pear, and sweet strawberries is spot on!

Key Ingredient Notes:

  • Frozen strawberries – Frozen strawberries thicken and sweeten the smoothie! If you have fresh, juicy peak-season strawberries, you can freeze them yourself. Hull them, lay them on a parchment lined sheet pan, then transfer to a Ziplock bag and freeze.
  • Pear – There’s no need to peel the pear since the skin is so thin. Just cut it into slices, place into a Ziplock bag, and freeze overnight.
  • Greek yogurt – Gives the smoothie a creamy texture and adds protein! Greek yogurt has double the protein of normal yogurt.
  • Grapes – Fresh grapes are 82 percent water, which means you don’t need a liquid base! The grapes double as the liquid and sweetener in this delicious smoothie.

How to make this recipe:

This strawberry smoothie is super simple to make!

  • Combine ingredients: In your blender, combine grapes, frozen pear, frozen strawberries, and yogurt. If you place the grapes on the bottom, it will make it easier on your blender to blitz the fruit!
  • Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy! Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Tips for Success:

  • There’s no need for fruit juice! This smoothie is plenty sweet from the grapes and they add plenty of juice to blend it.
  • Rinse your grapes first. Grapes have a whitish film called bloom on their skins that taste bitter. You also want to rinse off any residual pesticides and bacteria.
  • If possible, use a high-speed blender. High-speed blenders with powerful motors give you a silky smooth and creamy blend! The higher the wattage, the better!

Variations:

Smoothies are very forgiving and easy to customize! Feel free to swap the fruit or add ingredients to make it your own. Here’s a few ideas to get you started:

  • Fruit – Swap the frozen pear with frozen raspberries or peaches! You could also use frozen bananas or mixed berries. Just be sure to swap the frozen ingredients with more frozen fruit for the right consistency.
  • Greens – Add a handful of baby spinach for a boost of folic acid and iron!
  • Nut butter – Add a scoop of nut butter for a peanut butter and jelly vibe! Nut butter is a great way to add plant-based protein and nutrient-dense calories.
  • Yogurt – You can swap the Greek yogurt with vegan yogurt to make this recipe dairy-free and vegan.

Storage:

  • Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh for a thick and frosty texture! You can store the smoothie in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours if desired.
  • Pour the smoothie into an airtight jar with a lid and seal. Try to find a jar that fills to the top, so the smoothie doesn’t oxidize.

Brilliant I added a bit more of each of the ingredients, used blue berries instead of grapes and a tsp of honey and cannot recommend it more.
